ContiTech SCHWINGMETALL® hydraulic spring
As a special axle system, the hydraulic spring minimises shocks and noise. It cushions in all directions and acts as an additional wheel control thanks to its pre-set longitudinal and lateral stiffness. |

ContiTech SCHWINGMETALL® conical spring
In the primary function, the SCHWINGMETALL conical spring acts as a wheel-set-control axle spring in many drive and trailer bogies. Compared to the steel spring it has a more compact design, space-saving installation, lower weight and a stiffness that can be varied to a large degree in three planes. The conical spring minimises airborne and structure-borne noise and thereby contributes to the overall comfort. After each deflection it stabilises itself automatically and returns to its starting position. |

ContiTech Wheel-set spring
The wheel-set spring divides the vehicle wheels into an outer wheel tyre and an inner wheel disc. So it minimises shocks emanating from the rail track and allows low-noise running. This means the spring reduces material wear, thereby allowing longer maintenance intervals. The main areas of application are currently mass transit and underground trains and trams, but these springs are also being increasingly used in standard-gauge railways. |

ContiTech SCHWINGMETALL® coupling articulation
The coupling articulation joining two vehicle units allows axial movement as well as conical rotation when cornering. It copes with longitudinal movements resulting from traction and braking forces as well as lateral movements arising, for example when trains pass over points. |

ContiTech SCHWINGMETALL® spring system
Combined bearer springs for air spring systems bring together the benefits of conical and laminated springs. They are like extremely soft emergency springs and have a comfort-enhancing influence on the horizontal characteristics of the overall air spring system. Furthermore, they ensure high-speed trains do not derail even if an air spring system fails when a train is travelling fast. |
